Tennessee State University (HBCU)

Tennessee State University is a public historically Black university in Nashville founded in 1912 as the Tennessee Agricultural & Industrial State Normal School for Negroes. It remains one of Nashville's primary HBCUs and has served generations of Black students from Tennessee and beyond. The university's main campus and administrative offices are located on John A. Merritt Boulevard in south Nashville.
