Lever House

Designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and completed in 1952, Lever House was among the first International Style glass curtain‑wall office buildings in New York City. Commissioned by Lever Brothers, the 21‑story tower and its low freestanding plaza introduced a transparent, modernist idiom to Midtown Manhattan. The building was designated a New York City landmark in 1982 and has undergone restorations to preserve its glass façade and plaza.
