Kadugannawa Ambalama

Kadugannawa Ambalama is a historic resting place located just before the Kadugannawa hairpin turn on the route from Colombo to Kandy, Sri Lanka. Built in the early 19th century during British colonial rule, this architectural gem reflects Kandyan-era design and served as a vital stop for travelers, including horsemen and merchants, heading to the ancient capital of Kandy. Now over 200 years old, it has been renovated by the Ministry of Tourism and is recognized as a national heritage site, making it a significant point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
