Woodlawn Cemetery (Rosa Parks and Aretha Franklin burials)

Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit is the burial site of civil rights figure Rosa Parks, who died in 2005 and was interred there. The cemetery is also the final resting place of singer Aretha Franklin, who was buried there in 2018. Founded in the 19th century, Woodlawn contains the graves of numerous notable Detroit residents and reflects the city's social and cultural history.
