Palacio Arabe

Palacio Árabe, or Arab Palace, is a stunning Neo-Mudéjar condominium located in the heart of Mar del Plata, Argentina. Built in 1949 by Syrian immigrant Jalil Mahmud Hassein, the building showcases intricate Moorish architecture, featuring beautiful arcades, filigree decorations, and vibrant polychrome tiles. Originally envisioned as a six-story structure, it was completed with five stories due to local regulations. A notable architectural highlight is its minaret, which adds to its unique charm. The building is a tribute to Hassein's love for Moorish design, and a plaque honoring him was placed by the Lebanese community in 1995, making it a significant cultural landmark for both tourists and researchers alike.
