Kimbell Art Museum and founder Kay Kimbell

The Kimbell Art Museum was established by Kay Kimbell, a Fort Worth businessman and arts philanthropist, through the Kimbell Art Foundation. The museum building, designed by architect Louis I. Kahn and opened in 1972, houses the foundation's collection of European, Asian, African, and pre-Columbian art and is noted for its architecture and acoustics.
