Red House (Guyana)

The Red House, also known as Kamana Court, is a historic wooden colonial building located in Kingston, Georgetown, Guyana. Originally built in the 19th century, it served as the official residence for the Colonial Secretary and later the Premier of British Guiana, Cheddi Jagan. The building has a rich history, having been owned by notable figures and repurposed for various governmental uses over the years. In 2000, it became the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre, dedicated to the life and work of Jagan. The Red House is recognized as a national monument and offers insights into Guyana's colonial past and political history, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
