Thomas D'Arcy McGee Building

The Thomas D'Arcy McGee Building, located at 90 Sparks Street in Ottawa, is an office building that serves as the headquarters for the Royal Bank of Canada. Opened in 1981, it was initially named the Royal Bank Centre and later renamed in honor of Thomas D'Arcy McGee, a Father of Confederation who was assassinated nearby in 1868. The building features a shopping complex on its lower two floors and has housed various federal government offices. In 2007, it was sold to Larco Investments Limited while remaining under a long-term leaseback arrangement.
