Carnegie Camp North Point

Carnegie Camp North Point, located on the northern shore of Raquette Lake in New York's Adirondack Park, is a historic Great Camp designed by architect Kirtland Cutter for Lucy C. Carnegie, sister-in-law of industrialist Andrew Carnegie. Completed in 1903, the camp features notable structures such as the Assembly Hall and Dining Hall, which served as the main residences for the Carnegie family until 1916. After being sold in 1923, it transformed into a commercial vacation destination known as The North Point Inn and later The North Point Club, which included various cottages and facilities. Today, the camp's main buildings are maintained as a private residence, offering a glimpse into the luxurious summer retreats of the Gilded Age.
