Big Shot at The STRAT - tower-top upward-launch thrill ride

Big Shot opened atop the Stratosphere Tower (now The STRAT) in 1996 and propels riders upward from the tower's summit using a pneumatic launch mechanism. The ride sends passengers some 160 feet above the tower roofline and was promoted as one of the highest upward-launch thrill rides when it debuted. It is installed on the 1,149-foot Stratosphere Tower, making the ride notable for its extreme elevation above the Las Vegas Strip.
