Hilltop (Staunton, Virginia)

Hilltop is a historic building located on the campus of Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. Constructed around 1810 and expanded in 1904, this two-story, five-bay stuccoed brick structure features an impressive two-story hexastyle portico with massive Tuscan columns. Originally a private residence, it has been repurposed as a dormitory. The building underwent a complete restoration in 1991, funded by heiresses Margaret Hunt Hill and Caroline Rose Hunt, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Hilltop is a notable landmark for visitors interested in history and architecture.
