Short Homestead, also known as the James Baxter House, is a historic house and farm located near Georgetown, Delaware. Dating back to the mid-18th century, this two-story brick structure features a mid-19th century frame wing, showcasing architectural evolution over time. Once the heart of a 500-acre plantation, the house underwent modernization in the late 19th century. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in Delaware's rich history.
