Christoffel Vought Farmstead

The Christoffel Vought Farmstead, also known as the 1759 Vought House, is a historic site located in Clinton Township, New Jersey. Built in 1759, this significant structure showcases unique architectural features, including original plaster ceilings with geometric designs, and is constructed with a heavy timber frame and wattle and daub walls. The farmstead is notable for its connection to Christoffel Vought, a loyalist during the American Revolution, who faced exile due to his allegiance. Recognized for its historical importance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008 and is listed among Preservation New Jersey's 10 Most Endangered Historic Sites. The site is situated on the grounds of the Clinton Township Middle School, making it accessible for visitors interested in early American history and architecture.
