USS Constitution ('Old Ironsides') and USS Constitution Museum

USS Constitution was launched in 1797 and is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat, berthed at the Charlestown Navy Yard. The ship earned the nickname 'Old Ironsides' during the War of 1812 after cannon fire was seen to bounce off her hull. The adjacent USS Constitution Museum at 1 Constitution Rd interprets the ship's history and naval life for visitors.
