War Memorial Opera House

The War Memorial Opera House opened in 1932 at 301 Van Ness Avenue and is the historic home of the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Ballet. The Beaux-Arts building is part of the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center and has hosted major opera and ballet productions since its opening. The venue continues to serve as an active performance space for large-scale theatrical presentations and civic events.
