Eldorado Ballroom - historic Third Ward music venue

The Eldorado Ballroom, opened in 1939, became a major music and dance venue for Houston's African American community in the Third Ward. During the mid-20th century it hosted local and touring jazz, blues, and Latin bands and was influential in the city's Black musical culture. The building later fell into disuse and has been the focus of preservation and restoration efforts in the 21st century.
