Blair House (The President's Guest House)

Blair House is a complex of connected 19th-century townhouses directly across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House that serves as the President's Guest House for visiting foreign dignitaries. It has hosted numerous heads of state and, notably, served as the temporary executive residence for President Harry S. Truman during White House renovations from 1948 to 1952. The complex retains historic domestic architectural features from its period of origin while functioning as official government hospitality quarters.
