Château du Tholonet

The Château du Tholonet is a historic bastide located in Le Tholonet, near Aix-en-Provence, France. Acquired in 1646 by Alexandre de Gallifet, a prominent figure in the region, the estate was completed in 1776, just before the French Revolution. It has a rich history, including opposition to the Zola Dam by its later owner, Gaston Alexandre Auguste, Marquis de Galliffet. Since 1959, it has been associated with the Société du Canal de Provence, making it a site of both historical and cultural significance.
