Mejlborg

Mejlborg is a historic residential building located in the Nørre Stenbro neighborhood of Aarhus, Denmark. Constructed between 1896 and 1898, it was the first large privately built apartment complex in the city and served as a social hub for the upper class in the early 20th century. The building, named after the adjacent Mejlgade street, features a striking Gothic Renaissance architectural style with richly decorated facades and a commanding view of the Bay of Aarhus. Although it suffered damage from a fire in 1899, Mejlborg was quickly rebuilt and continues to stand as a notable landmark, now primarily housing residential units with a former restaurant space repurposed for offices.
