NASA headquarters announced an independent UAP study

In June 2022 NASA, via its headquarters in Washington, D.C., announced the formation of an independent study team to examine unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) data and to identify datasets that could be useful for scientific analysis. The announcement came from NASA Headquarters and invited input from the scientific community and the public. The initiative represented a formal, civilian scientific effort based in part at NASA's Washington offices.
