Administration Building, Decatur Baptist College

The Administration Building of Decatur Baptist College, located in Decatur, Texas, was a historic structure built in 1893 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It served as the college's main building, which began in 1891 and became the first private junior college in the U.S. after reorganizing in 1896. The three-story limestone building housed classrooms and a chapel, and was a significant part of the local heritage until it was tragically destroyed by fire on March 18, 2023, along with many valuable artifacts from the Wise County Heritage Museum.
