Tiffany Building (San Francisco)

The Tiffany Building, located at Union Square in San Francisco, is an eleven-story structure known for its striking blend of commercial offices and a prominent Tiffany & Co. store occupying the first two floors. Completed in 1972 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building adheres to a height limit set by the San Francisco Planning Commission and serves as a backdrop to classical architecture in the area. The Tiffany store, which opened in 1991, is one of the largest for the brand outside New York City, featuring an Art Deco-style design. The building also houses the North America regional headquarters of Cathay Pacific, which moved there in 2005, emphasizing the cultural ties between the Bay Area and Hong Kong. The Tiffany Building is not only a shopping destination but also a historical site, having previously hosted consulates and significant corporate offices.
