Larkin Company Building

The Larkin Company Building, located at 3617 S. Ashland Avenue in Chicago's Central Manufacturing District, was an eight-story loft structure completed in 1912. Designed by F. E. Lockwood, it originally served as the headquarters for the Larkin Company and later housed various businesses, including the Vassar Swiss Underwear Company and Jewel Food Stores. The building underwent several changes, including a two-story addition in 1948, and remained a significant distribution center until its demolition in December 2020. As a part of the Central Manufacturing District–Original East Historic District, it represented a key piece of Chicago's industrial history.
