Hunedoara County Prefecture

The Hunedoara County Prefecture, located in Deva, Romania, is an architectural gem built between 1889 and 1890 in a late eclectic style by architect Ignác Alpár. This V-shaped building, situated near the Deva Fortress and city park, serves as the office for the prefect and the county council. Visitors can admire its symmetric design, featuring a stunning nine-meter-high meeting room adorned in Neo-Renaissance and Baroque styles, complete with a coffered ceiling and wrought iron chandelier. The building's roof is uniquely covered with green Zsolnay tiles, and it boasts a high central tower.
