California Theatre of the Performing Arts

The California Theatre opened in 1927 as a movie palace and vaudeville house in downtown San Jose. After decades of decline it was restored and reopened in 2004 as a performing arts venue, now hosting Broadway touring productions, concerts, and community events. The theater is part of San Jose's historic downtown theater district and preservation efforts.
