Hong Kong Hilton

The Hong Kong Hilton, opened in 1963, was a landmark 5-star hotel in Central, known for its luxurious accommodations and as a favorite among tourists and dignitaries. It was the first hotel globally to introduce minibars in all rooms, significantly boosting its revenue. After 32 years of operation, it closed in May 1995 and was demolished to make way for the Cheung Kong Centre, a commercial development. The hotel employed 850 staff, many of whom were relocated to a new hotel, ensuring a smooth transition for its workforce.
