Suzzallo Library - the 'Cathedral of Learning' at the University of Washington

Suzzallo Library, completed in stages beginning in the 1920s and expanded mid-century, is the principal humanities and social sciences library on the University of Washington campus and is famous for its Collegiate Gothic architecture. Its Graduate Reading Room features a vaulted, cathedral-like interior with oak paneling, leaded glass, and ornate detailing, which has led to its nickname 'the Cathedral of Learning.' The building was designed by architect Carl F. Gould and remains a central architectural landmark on the UW campus.
