Macalister Mansion

Macalister Mansion is a historic heritage-listed mansion and hotel located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Built in 1880, it is one of the oldest residential mansions in the area, originally owned by a wealthy Indian moneylender and later by the prominent peranakan tycoon Choong Lye Hock. After being used as commercial space for several decades, the mansion underwent a significant renovation in the early 2010s to become a luxury hotel, reopening in 2012 under its new name, which honors its location and a former British governor.
