San Antonio River Walk - holiday lighting and illuminated river parade

Each holiday season the San Antonio River Walk is outfitted with thousands of decorative lights, and the Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony (documented by the city and local media) marks the start of the River Walk’s annual lighting. The parade features illuminated barges that travel the river, creating striking nighttime light displays along the riverbanks. The Arneson River Theatre/La Villita area commonly serves as a focal point for viewing the lighting events and crowd gatherings.
