Thaw Hall

Thaw Hall is a historic academic building at the University of Pittsburgh, completed in 1910 and designed in the Neoclassical Beaux-Arts style by architect Henry Hornbostel. As a key part of the Schenley Farms National Historic District, it serves various academic departments, including Physics and Astronomy, and features unique architectural elements inspired by classical Greek models. Originally housing the School of Engineering, it now includes classrooms, labs, and specialized facilities like an architecture lab. Thaw Hall is the only surviving building from Hornbostel's original campus design and is undergoing significant renovations as part of the university's master plan.
