Grande Ballroom

The Grande Ballroom at 8952 Grand River Avenue was a focal venue for Detroit's late-1960s rock scene under promoter Russ Gibb. It hosted early and influential performances by local groups such as the MC5 and The Stooges and booked touring acts including Jimi Hendrix. The venue is closely associated with Detroit's psychedelic and garage-rock movements and is remembered for its iconic concert poster artwork.
