River Bend Farm is a historic site located in East Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, nestled along the Schuylkill River. This farm showcases early Chester County construction with its distinctive stuccoed stone walls and pegged rafters. Notably, it was owned by Michael Hillegas, the first Treasurer of the United States, and has connections to the prominent Joshua family. The property, originally purchased in 1763, played a role in the American Revolution through its subsequent owners, including military leaders who served in Congress. The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a significant attraction for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
