Wells Fargo Center ('Cash Register Building')

Completed in 1983 and designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee, the Wells Fargo Center is a postmodern skyscraper in downtown Denver widely nicknamed the 'Cash Register Building' because of its curved, register-like crown. At roughly 698 feet tall it ranks among Denver’s tallest office towers and its distinctive top is a prominent element of the city skyline. The crown's form and nighttime illumination have reinforced the building's popular nickname and visual identity.
