Fremont Troll

The Fremont Troll is a concrete sculpture located beneath the north end of the Aurora Bridge (George Washington Memorial Bridge) in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. Created by local artists in 1990, the roughly 18-foot-tall troll clutching a Volkswagen Beetle is a frequent subject of photographs and internet memes. The public artwork sits in a small plaza with stairs and is an established tourist photo spot. Its location under N 36th Street makes it a recognizable visual shorthand for Seattle in online posts.
