White-Overton-Callander House

The White-Overton-Callander House, located at 492 Main Street in Portland, Connecticut, is a historic house museum dating back to the 1710s. Built by Nathaniel White, one of the area's early settlers, it is one of the oldest surviving structures in the community. The house features a distinctive wood-frame design with a gabled roof and an asymmetrical facade. It has been owned by the local historical society since 1997 and is open for tours on select Sundays. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, highlighting its significance in American history, particularly its connection to the Revolutionary War through its later owner, Seth Overton.
