The Whitney (Gilded Age mansion)

Built in 1894 for lumber baron David Whitney Jr., the Whitney is a preserved Gilded Age mansion on Detroit's Woodward Avenue that was converted into a restaurant and event venue. The building retains much of its original interior detail, including carved woodwork, stained glass, and ornate plaster. It has been a landmark of Detroit's residential architecture and hospitality reuse since its restoration.
