C.B. Stubblefield founded Stubb's barbecue in Lubbock in 1968; the Austin restaurant and live music venue at this address carries on his name and reputation. The Austin location functions as both a barbecue restaurant and a concert venue and has hosted well-known musical acts. The Stubb's name was later licensed for a nationally distributed line of barbecue sauces and marinades sold in grocery stores.
