Bentse Brug

Bentse Brug is a historic industrial site located in Oslo, Norway, along the picturesque Akerselva river. Originally established as a corn mill, it became Norway's first paper mill in 1696, marking a significant milestone in the country's industrial history. In 1838, the site saw the installation of Norway's first paper machine, imported from England, which revolutionized paper production in the region. Although Bentse Brug faced bankruptcy in 1899, it was subsequently acquired by Myrens Verksted, preserving its legacy as a key player in Norway's industrial development.
