Tapley Building

The Tapley Building, a historic Romanesque structure located at 206 Broad Street in Lynn, Massachusetts, was constructed in 1890 as a replacement for a factory lost in the devastating 1889 fire. It served as a key facility for Philip P. Tapley's shoe manufacturing firm and featured innovative fireproof construction methods, including fireproof stairwells and elevators. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, although it tragically succumbed to fire in 1999.
