Fort Caroline National Memorial

Fort Caroline National Memorial marks the 1564 French Huguenot settlement and the 1565 Spanish attack that resulted in the massacre of many colonists; these events are historically documented. The memorial interprets the early colonial encounter in northeastern Florida and includes a visitor center and a reconstructed earthwork outline of the fort.
