Carrington–Covert House

The Carrington–Covert House, located in downtown Austin, Texas, is a historic building constructed between 1855 and 1857, making it one of the few pre-Civil War structures still standing in the city. It served as the residence of Leonidas D. Carrington and his family before transitioning to various uses, including a hospital and a boarding house. In 1971, it became the headquarters of the Texas Historical Commission and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The house showcases vernacular Greek Revival architecture and reflects the rich history of Austin's development.
