Municipal Warehouse No. 1

Municipal Warehouse No. 1, built in 1917, is a historic six-story structure located at the Port of Los Angeles. It played a pivotal role in establishing the city as a major international trade hub, particularly after the opening of the Panama Canal. The warehouse, the largest of its kind on the Pacific Coast, features nearly twelve acres of floor space and was the Port's only bonded warehouse for many years. Its rooftop has hosted various operations, including the Marine Exchange and a harbor receiving station, providing stunning views of the harbor. Today, it stands as a testament to the region's commercial history and architectural significance.
