Hightower Hall

Hightower Hall, also known as Forrest Hall, is a historic house located near McConnells in York County, South Carolina. Completed in 1856, this two-story dwelling showcases a vernacular interpretation of the Italianate style, featuring a striking three-story tower and decorative elements such as deep eaves and verandahs. Originally built by John and Harriet Bratton, the home has a rich history, including ownership by their daughter Sophia and later by IBM executive R. F. Draper, who expanded the estate significantly. Now part of the Historic Brattonsville, Hightower Hall serves as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's history and architecture. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
