Falcon Lair

Falcon Lair is a historic estate located in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles, originally built for silent film star Rudolph Valentino in 1925. Designed in the Spanish Revival style by architect Wallace Neff, the estate features a 4-acre property with extensive gardens, a horse stable, and luxurious interiors filled with antiques. Valentino named the estate in honor of an unfinished film project and hosted lavish parties there. After his untimely death, the estate changed hands multiple times, most notably being owned by tobacco heiress Doris Duke, who transformed it into a venue for jazz concerts and social gatherings. Despite its storied past, including tales of hauntings, the main building was demolished in 2006, leaving behind a guesthouse and remnants of its grandeur. Today, Falcon Lair remains a point of interest for tourists and researchers fascinated by Hollywood history and the legacy of its famous residents.
