Florida Brewing Company building

The Florida Brewing Company building, a historic site in Ybor City, Tampa, was established in 1896 and is notable for being the first brewery in Florida. Once a leading exporter of beer to Cuba, it produced up to 80,000 barrels annually and was frequented by Theodore Roosevelt and his Rough Riders after the Spanish-American War. After its closure in 1961, the building fell into disrepair but was restored in 1999 and now serves as a law office. Standing six stories tall, it remains the tallest structure in Ybor City, with a rich history tied to the area's cultural and economic development.
