Old Connaught House

Old Connaught House is an 18th-century Georgian residence located in Rathmichael, Dublin, originally built for Bishop William Gore. After his death, it was leased to the Plunket family, who occupied it for generations. In 1946, it was sold to the Congregation of Christian Brothers and served as a novitiate school until 1972. Following years of vacancy, it was leased to a non-profit equestrian organization before being sold in 2000 and renovated into a development of 24 apartments in the main house and an additional 26 in a separate building. The area is recognized as an 'Historic Landscape Character Area' by local authorities, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
