Maisel's Indian Trading Post

Maisel's Indian Trading Post, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a historic site established in 1939 to serve the U.S. Route 66 tourist trade. Designed by architect John Gaw Meem in the Pueblo Deco style, the building features stunning murals by Olive Rush and various Native American artists. The trading post played a significant role in promoting Native crafts and employed hundreds of local artisans. Although it closed permanently in 2019 after the retirement of its last owner, Skip Maisel, it remains a notable landmark in the history of Native American commerce and culture.
