Brownhill Inn

Brownhill Inn, located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, is a historic coaching inn built around 1790, situated approximately 1 mile south of Closeburn. Once a bustling stop for horse-drawn coaches, it features remnants of its original architecture, with the south side largely unchanged. The inn is famously associated with the poet Robert Burns, who frequented it and even inspired several of his works there. Notable visitors included other literary figures like Dorothy Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge. Although the inn closed in 1850, its rich history and connection to Scottish literature make it a fascinating site for tourists and researchers alike.
