Skeppsholmen Church

Skeppsholmen Church, located on the picturesque islet of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, was built between 1823 and 1849 to replace a wooden church destroyed by fire. Inaugurated by King Charles XIV John, this neoclassical octahedral temple, designed by architect Fredrik Blom, features a striking coffered ceiling and a unique lantern light. The church's interior boasts paired Doric columns and niches with apostolic statues. After its secularization in 2002, it was transformed into Eric Ericsonhallen, a concert hall named after the renowned Swedish conductor, making it a vibrant cultural venue in the heart of the city.
