Rural Point

Rural Point, also known as Robertson House and Doty House, is a historic home and garden located in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Built in 1852, this Greek Revival style dwelling features a striking gable-roofed porch supported by four square columns. The property includes a semi-formal garden designed by renowned landscape architect John Grimke Drayton, as well as a traditional southern planter's office. The house was constructed by William Ross Robertson, a prominent local figure who played significant roles in the state legislature and the Secession Convention. Rural Point was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
